Sir Elton Hercules John CBE was born "Reginald Kenneth Dwight" on 25th March 1947. He was raised in Pinner which is an affluent area of the London Borough of Harrow in the north west of Greater London. He has charmed audiences around the world for more than five decades and is still continuing to do so - a very rare achievement.

In his five-decade long career Sir Elton John has sold more than 300 million records, this alone makes him one of the best selling songwriter and singer in the world.

His single “Something about the way you look tonight – Candle in the wind 1997” sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is "the best-selling single of all time".


He has received 6 Grammy Awards, 5 Brit Awards, 2 awards for Outstanding Contribution to Music to name a few in the long never ending list of his accomplishments and awards won.
